Comminuted fracture of the first coccygeal body, with minimally displaced fragments. Mild pericoccygeal reactive soft tissue fat stranding.

Case Discussion

Coccydynia is most commonly associated with trauma. CT is often required for definitive diagnosis. Risk factors include: sex (female to male ratio of 4:1), increased body mass index, and anatomic factors (mobile sacrococcygeal joint, ventrally curved coccyx, and posterior spicule).
