Presentation

Patient presents to the emergency department after falling on left wrist.

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Female

There is an acute, mildly comminuted and impacted distal radial metaphysis fracture with dorsal angulation of the distal fracture fragment. No definite intra-articular extension.

There is an acute minimally displaced ulnar styloid fracture.

Approximately 3 mm ulnar positive variance, likely posttraumatic, advanced first CMC and moderate triscaphe degenerative changes, and soft tissue swelling about the wrist are also noted.

Case Discussion

Acute, comminuted, impacted, and dorsally angulated distal radius fracture compatible with a Colles fracture.
