Presentation

Chronic constipation and recent abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female

Marked asymmetrical increased wall thickness is present in the splenic flexure of the colon that causes colocolic intussusception. Surrounding fat stranding and several regional enlarged lymph nodes are also seen.

Due to prior resection, the uterus and ovaries are not seen at the anatomical location.Thereisnosi

Colocolic intussusception due to pathology-proven colon adenocarcinoma.

Intussusception occurs when one segment of bowel is pulled into itself or a neighboring loop of the bowel by peristalsis. When occurring in the adult population, intussusception is usually caused by a focal lesion acting as a lead point.
