Pulmonary nodules and mass-like consolidation in the lower lobe, bilaterally. There is a cavitary consolidation in the right lower lobe.
Case Discussion
Cryptococcal pneumonia is a fungal infection cause by Cryptococcus neoformans (as in this biospy-proven case) or Cryptococcus gatti and predominantly affects the immunocompromised patients. It can present with pulmonary nodules, masses +/- cavitations particularly in immunocompromised patients.
