Fall from a third-floor window 2 months ago.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Female

Diastatic fractures of both lambdoid sutures, more on the right side. Associated with multiple fissure fractures in both posterior parietal bones reaching the lambdoid.

Right inferior frontal, left posterior parietal and left anterior temporal areas of encephalomalacia, a sequel of cerebral contusions.

Case Discussion

Diastatic fractures occur along the suture lines, where the suture lines appear widened. This fractures occurs in newborns and infants in whom suture fusion has not yet occurred.
