Dorsal wrist pain.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female

Severe distal radioulnar joint osteoarthritis with subchondral geodes and marginal osteophytes. Negative ulnar variance.

Severe first carpometacarpal osteoarthritis. 

Case Discussion

Distal radioulnar joint osteoarthritis can occur in isolation or with other carpal joints also affected. Common causes include trauma, chronic instability, inflammatory arthritis, or infection. Treatment options include capsular release, resection arthropathy, arthrodesis or joint replacement.
