On the non-contrast scan, hyperdense material is filling the right transverse and sigmoid sinus and is partially extending into the superior sagittal sinus.
CT venography confirms filling defects in the respective segments, confirming dural venous sinus thrombosis.
Case Discussion
Keeping an eye on the density of the dural venous sinuses on non-contrast scans is critical as the thrombus is not necessarily so strikingly hyperdense initially as in this case.
