Presentation

Lateral right knee pain.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
x-ray
  • ill-defined central lytic bone lesion involving the proximal fibular metaphysis and epiphysis

  • rings and arcs calcifications suggestive of a chondroid matrix

  • well-marginated central lesion involving the proximal fibular epiphysis.

  • It demonstrates an intermediate signal on T1 and a predominantly high signal on T2

  • internal foci of a low signal: 'rings and arcs' (chondroid matrix)

  • no "grow" through the cortex or gross bone destruction

  • no periosteal reaction or soft tissue mass

  • no bone marrow or soft tissue edema
