Presentation
Minimal trauma with pain on movement of little finger.
Patient Data
Minimally displaced pathological fracture at the base of the little finger proximal phalanx. No articular involvement.
There is an underlying centrally located lucency with a narrow zone of transition, at the metaphysis and extending into the diaphysis. Thinning of the cortex and some internal chondroid calcification but no periosteal reaction or associated soft tissue abnormality.
Case Discussion
Minimal trauma led to a minimally displaced fracture at the site of an enchondroma. These are likely to heal normally and in this case did not require any operative intervention or imaging follow up.
