Case Discussion

The Evans' Index (EI) has been a parameter proposed as a marker of ventricular volume. It is a ratio of the maximum width of the frontal horns of the lateral ventricles and the maximal internal diameter of the skull at the same level employed on axial CT and MRI images. This ratio can vary with age and sex but with the usual normal value taken as less than 0.3.
