Presentation

Dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

An enlarged uterus (measuring about 70 x 85 x 100 mm) showing focal asymmetrical thickening of the junctional zone at the posterior fundal/corporeal region associated with multiple small T1/T2 hyperintense foci suggestive of hemorrhage throughout the fundus and body myometrium that compressing the endometrial cavity and displaced of its anteriorly. 

Case Discussion

MRI demonstrates an enlarged uterus associated with thickening and blurring of the junctional zone at the posterior fundal and corporal region with multiple T1/T2 hyperintense foci consistent with focal adenomyosis.
