A lobulated exostotic bony lesion is seen arising from the inner table of the right frontal sinus with an osseous appearing matrix.

Irregular thickening of the inner table of the frontal bone on both sides was also incidentally noted, impressive of hyperostosis frontalis interna.

A chronic lacunar infarct is seen at the superior aspect of the right cerebellar hemisphere.

Case Discussion

Findings are in keeping with an osteoma of the frontal sinus. Most of these lesions do not cause symptoms and are detected incidentally in imaging studies.

Hyperostosis frontalis interna is a common incidental finding on the CT/MRI brains of elderly women. No treatment is required.
