Gender: Female
ultrasound

Moderate thickening of the gallbladder wall with a comet-tail artifact arising from the gallbladder wall. No gallstones are seen.

Case Discussion

Comet-tail artifact or comet tail reverberation artifacts are highly specific for adenomyomatosis, representing the unique acoustic signature of cholesterol crystals within the lumina of Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses.
