Presentation

History of fall in the bathroom, followed by pain in the right hip. Restricted movements of the right hip with inability to weight bear and walk.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Diffuse osteopenia. Intertrochanteric fracture of the right proximal femur. Multiple small calcific densities are seen in the pelvis which are likely phleboliths.  

x-ray

Intertrochanteric fracture of the right femur had been internally fixed with a gamma nail/trochanteric nail. Fracture fragments are well aligned. Postsurgical changes are seen in the soft tissues of the right upper lateral thigh.
