Presentation

Hoarse voice, sore throat, and recent dental infections.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male
ct

There is a 2 x1.1 x 0.6 cm rim enhancing fluid collection in the glottic region involving the vocal cords with narrowing of the glottic airway. There are associated mild thickening in the epiglottis and aryepiglottic folds. No evidence of extra laryngeal extension.

Case Discussion

Findings consistent with glottic abscess associated with mild inflammatory changes in the epiglottis and aryepiglottic folds.
