Presentation
History of surgery for a pelvic mass. Present complaints of abdominal pain for a few days after surgery.
Patient Data
There is a sharply defined, rounded mass lesion in the left hemi-pelvis. It has, a peripheral, thin enhancing wall with internal gas foci and curvilinear hyperdense/metallic structure along with significant streak artefact.
This lesion is abutting the uterus.
The rest of the visualized viscera are within normal limits.
Case Discussion
The patient presentation with a recent history of abdominal surgery and the CT findings are most likely suggestive of a gossypiboma as detailed above.
