Presentation

Right upper quadrant pain for a long time.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female

There is a large, well-defined cystic lesion with a few small, peripherally located cystic components (daughter cysts), without calcification or enhancing solid component in the right liver lobe that causes mild adjacent bile duct dilatation due to pressure effect.

Case Discussion

Hydatid cyst is a parasitic disease that primarily affects the liver. Daughter cysts are characteristic of liver hydatid cyst.
