Nuclear medicine

The [18F]-FDG PET/CT was done after 3 months. The tumor of the left lower lobe with high FDG uptake. Multiple high metabolic lesions of the left lower lobe which are hyperdense compared to the background: carcinomatosis of the left lower lobe. Metastatic lymphadenopathy of the right low cervical and upper paratracheal groups with high FDG uptake.

Case Discussion

Lung hepatisation is an imaging term that describes airless consolidated lung that resembles the liver. In this case, the lung consolidation and partial atelectasis is caused by obstruction of the left lower lobar bronchus due to the soft tissue mass.
