Presentation

This patient had a history of acute myeloblastic leukemia not having achieved remission who required central access prior to allogeneic stem cell transplant.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Patient is status post left subclavian tunneled catheter placement with tip in good position. No pneumothorax.

Case Discussion

This is an example of a Hickman catheter. A Hickman catheter is a tunneled and cuffed central venous catheter which can be used for apheresis.
