Presentation

A patient with a history of low-grade fever and weight loss is now presenting with acute respiratory distress in the emergency room.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Hyperlucency of the right hemithorax and non-visualization of broncho-pulmonary markings.

Pleural fluid collection with a well-demarcated air-fluid level.

There is mediastinal shift towards the contralateral side.
