Displacement of the lateral quarter of left iliac crest apophysis, in keeping with avulsion injury.
Case Discussion
Iliac crest apophyseal avulsion fracture is due to forceful contraction of anterior abdominal wall muscles. It is a rare fracture that occurs in adolescents, and usually the underlying abnormality in a hip-pointer injury in this age. It is generally the least common of pelvic avulsion fractures. Most patients respond to conservative treatment.
