Infected second branchial cleft cyst - type II

There is a well-defined non-enhancing cystic structure seen in the right anterior neck, just below the angle of mandible, between the sternocleidomastoid muscle and submandibular gland, lateral to the carotid sheath (just above the carotid bifurcation). There is a sinus tract arising from it towards the skin, as well as adjacent subcutaenous ill-defined hypodensity and fat stranding, mostly representing phelgmon/abscess.
Case Discussion
The features suggest an infected second branchial cleft cyst - type II (Bailey classification), which is the most common branchial cleft anomaly.
