Presentation

Long standing left inguinal swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Inguinal ultrasound shows a well-defined cystic mass lesion with multiple internal floating echogenic balls giving the floating balls sign in addition to multiple thin, echogenic bands (dot-dash pattern) without detectable color Doppler activity, features of dermoid cyst.


pathology

The macroscopic pathology image confirms the diagnosis of a dermoid cyst (mature cystic teratoma).
