Gender: Female

Left breast implant appears partially collapsed with multiple low T1 and T2 signal parallel lines to the capsule giving appearance of a "subcapsular line sign", few wavy line " linguine sign".

Case Discussion

An intracapsular implant rupture occurs when the envelope ruptures, but the capsule stays intact.

The silicone migrates between the envelope and the capsule but doesn't migrate into the breast tissue or beyond.

MRI is the gold standard for evaluation of the integrity of the integrity of the breast implant with a sensitivity of 80-90% and specificity of 90-97% for detecting ruptures.
