Case contributed by Khaled Al khateeb
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Right lower abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

There is a cystic lesion seen in the right lung lower lobe mediobasal segment.

A small artery can be seen arising directly from the anterior surface of the aorta, below the diaphragm, which then passes upwards and to the right, to supply this abnormal segment of the lung.

The cystic lesion is surrounded by emphysematous changes and a few foci of calcifications.

Case Discussion

Features are suggestive of intralobar pulmonary sequestration or hybrid lesion combined with bronchial atresia.
