Presentation
Trauma.
Patient Data
Within the vastus intermedius muscle belly, there is a 45*60*100 mm large intramuscular mass-like lesion surrounded by edema and inflammatory changes along with left thigh middle a third portion
On the T1 sequence, the mass is hyperintense in the periphery with central hypointensity. On T2/PD fat suppression sequence, the lesion remains hyperintense at the periphery with central iso- hypointense
The normal signal intensity of the other muscles and femur.
Case Discussion
Soft tissue hematomas can often simulate neoplastic disorders, it is important to have clear information about the appearance of the traumatic lesions that were preceded by traumatic injuries.
MRI is one of the best imaging methods to differentiate hematoma from infiltrating processes.
