Presentation
Headache and seizures for 4 months. No history of trauma or fever
Patient Data
Multi-lobulated heterogeneously enhancing mass centered in the trigone of right lateral ventricle with associated entrapment hydrocephalus of the temporal and occipital horns of the right lateral ventricle. Significant mass effect and compression of the midbrain and midline shift. The blooming artifact on SWI confirms calcifications.
Avidly enhancing extra-axial intra-ventricular mass centered within the occipital horn of the right lateral ventricle associated with obstructive hydrocephalus. The multi-lobulated mass has intra-lesional calcification but no necrosis. Local mass effect with surrounding edema, midline shift and subfalcine herniation.
Case Discussion
The patient had surgical resection with histopathological confirmation of intraventricular meningioma. Differential diagnoses include choroid plexus carcinoma, central neurocytoma and metastasis.
