Presentation
History of right ring finger injury during play with a friend one month back. After that jersey-finger-deformity is present.
Patient Data
No significant bony abnormality.
Disruption of flexor digitorum profundus at volar base of distal phalanx of the right-hand ring finger.
The tendon is retracted with its end being at the level of the mid part of the proximal phalanx.
Disruption of flexor digitorum profundus at volar base of distal phalanx of the right-hand ring finger.
The tendon is retracted with its end being at the level of the mid part of the proximal phalanx.
Edematous changes are noted along the course of the above tendon.
No fracture or dislocation is noted.
Case Discussion
According to Leddy and Packer classification, the features are consistent with Jersey finger-type II.
