Presentation
Progressive swelling of the left eye lateral canthus eight months after surgery.
Patient Data
Left orbit lateral canthus intermediate signal intensity (on T1/T2 weighted) enhancing pre septal soft tissue mass lesion measuring about 20 x 25 x 30 mm passed through the orbital septum with extension to the post septal extra conal space adjacent to the anterior insertion of the left lateral rectus muscle.
The mass causes the erosion of the frontal process of the zygomatic bone.
The enlarged left-sided lacrimal gland is in relation to the lateral canthus mass.
Rim-enhancing small mass (10 x 15 mm) at left parotid gland superficial lobe.
On presentation 8 months prior
Left orbit pre septal enhancing soft tissue mass lesion ( 5 x 10 mm) adjacent to the anterior insertion of the lateral rectus muscle.
Rim-enhancing small mass ( 10 x 15 mm) at left parotid gland superficial lobe.
The mass was resected and histopathology revealed moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.
Case Discussion
Regarding the above clinical imaging findings, recurrence of the known lateral canthus moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma is the main diagnosis.
