Low back pain.

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Well corticated, triangular-shape bony fragment in the anterior-superior endplate margin of L4 vertebrae representing limbus vertebra.

Case Discussion

Limbus vertebra is caused by herniation of nucleus pulposus through the vertebral body endplate. It is a feature of intervertebral disc herniation and needs not to be confused with fracture or infection.
