The upper pole of left kidney shows a focal wedge-shaped hyperechoic area, with absent vascularity.
There is mild hydronephrosis with urothelial thickening and mild perinephric fluid.
Case Discussion
The lab results showed leukocytosis, elevated CRP, elevated Creatinine and pyuria. Urine culture was postive for E. coli.
The ultrasound findings in correlation with clinical presentation and laboratory findings suggest focal acute pyelonephritis (with lobar nephronia).
