Presentation

Fatigue and weight loss for unknown reasons. CT to rule out a tumor.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
  • there is a left-sided spiculated pulmonary hilar mass, measuring 32 x 20 mm. This mass is centered on the apicoposterior segment bronchus (B1+2) which is completely obstructed, without associated parenchymal collapse.

  • no pleural or pericardial effusion

  • left lower paratracheal (4L) lymphadenopathy

  • bilateral moderate centrilobular emphysema

The patient had a bronchoscopy with biopsies.

10 days later he had a PET-scan.

Onset of a left upper lobe consolidation with air bronchogram and surrounding ground glass opacification.
