Presentation
Chest pain and hemoptysis.
Patient Data
Multiple intrapulmonary nodules and large retrocardiac mass in the left lung.
The CT shows a solid mass of 70x70mm in the left lower lobe posteromedial segment, partially surrounds the aorta. There are also pretracheal and infracarinal lymph nodes. Areas of ground glass density, thickened interstitial fibrous elements, bulla and dense apical nodules of residual aspect. In bone reconstruction are lytic lesions in D2 and D9, 5th left rib and 6th right rib and left scapula. The adrenal glands are enlarged.
Case Discussion
This case shows a typical left lung cancer with mediastinal lymph nodes and rib and vertebral metastases.
Although a PET-CT is recommended for completion of the imaging staging, the provisory radiological staging for this case would be T3N2M1c.
