Presentation

Fixed hard mass attached to the left mandibular ramus causing facial asymmetry without trismus, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, previous facial trauma or infection.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Skull X-rays

x-ray

Exophytic lesion arising from the lateral surface of the mandibular ramus with attenuation similar to compact bone.

Non-contrast CT

ct

Mushroom-like lesion (10 × 9 × 11 mm) with smooth margins, arising from the lateral surface of the left mandibular ramus.

Case Discussion

Peripheral osteomas arise from the periosteum, usually as unilateral and pedunculated. Osteomas are benign, slow-growing osteogenic tumors that consist of compact or cancellous bone.
