Case contributed by Hidayatullah Hamidi
Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Chronic pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

There is a well defined, cystic mass with some amount internal fat, most likely arising from the adnexa.

Gallbladder cholesterol stones are also seen.

Case Discussion

There are limited differential diagnoses for fat-containing adnexal masses, with the ovarian mature cystic teratoma (ovarian dermoid) being the commonest. CT and MRI are very reliable modalities for detection of fat component of dermoid cysts.
