There are islands ( > 5 number, 15 to 25 mm size range ) of increased mesenteric fat echogenicity at the mesenteric root. Patent mesenteric vessels pass between them. There are few subcentimeter-sized ovoid nodes in the echogenic masses as well as outside them. There are no calcification / cystic changes.
The rest of the abdominal and pelvic examination was normal.
Case Discussion
The ultrasound findings favor mesenteric panniculitis.
