A marginated region of increased attenuation seen in the small bowel mesentery associated with multiple small mesenteric lymph nodes. Spared fat halo noted around the traversing mesenteric vessels and the lymph nodes (fat halo sign).
Case Discussion
CT findings are in keeping with mesenteric panniculitis which is an idiopathic disorder characterized by chronic non-specific inflammation involving the adipose tissue of the bowel mesentery.
