Colorectal cancer (rectal mass) with retroperitoneal nodal and liver metastases.
Case Discussion
The recent patient was referred with signs and symptoms of colorectal malignancy.
Abdominopelvic CT scan with and without contrast revealed advanced rectal cancer with nodal and liver metastases compatible with the Dukes D staging system.
This system is now mainly of historical interest as it has largely been replaced by the TNM staging system.
