Abnormal intrasubstance increased fluid signal is present along the course of the middle finger common flexor tendons (including flexor digitorum superficialis and flexor digitorum profundus ) at the level of proximal phalanx head and shaft portions (Zone II of hand flexor tendons) due to partial thickness tear. Soft tissue edematous changes also are seen around the third finger common flexor tendons.
Case Discussion
Regarding the imaging findings, middle finger flexor tendons injury is seen in the background of recent traumatic insult.
