Fever and chills. Cough with hemoptysis. Muscular weakness. Κnown tuberculosis.

Right paratracheal soft-tissue compatible with lymphadenopathy.

Case Discussion

Miliary tuberculosis occurs when host defenses are overcome and indicates hematogenous spread. This means that other organs are likely to be infected, including the brain and meninges.

The term “miliary” was introduced for uniform scattered nodules less than 3 mm in diameter, comparing them to millet seeds.
