Multifocal urothelial cell carcinoma of the bladder

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Workup for gross hematuria.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

There is a 35 x 55 mm large abnormal signal avid enhancing papillary mass on the right lateral and anterior aspect of the bladder base projecting into the bladder lumen. Invasion to the muscular layer of the bladder is seen.

Another similar smaller mass measuring about 10 x 17 mm on the anterior wall of the bladder projecting into the bladder lumen also is noted.

Left posterolateral urinary bladder diverticulum measuring about 10 x 20 mm is seen.

No pelvic lymphadenopathy. 

Pathology-proven urothelial cell carcinoma (high-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma) of the urinary bladder.

Case Discussion

Pathology-proven urothelial cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder.
No extra-vesical extension, no regional lymphadenopathy, and no detectable metastasis.
