Presentation

Tremor, rigidity and ataxia

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Mild reduction in cerebral volume with prominence of the cerebral sulci.

Moderate enlargement of lateral ventricles.

Significant atrophy of the brainstem and cerebellum with prominence of pre-pontine cistern, cerebello-pontine angle cisterns and IV ventricle.

Case Discussion

This patient was diagnosed MSA some years ago (CT features are consistent with cerebellar variant, also known as olivopontocerebellar degeneration). No past MRI were available.
