Presentation

Dull upper quadrant pain for a few months without definite aggravating factors.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

There is a small radiodense calculus in the lower calyx of the right kidney, which may explain the symptoms. No dilatation of the calyceal system is seen. The left kidney is unremarkable.

CT features of the liver, spleen, pancreas, and adrenal glands are unremarkable.

No dilatation, restriction, mucous thickening, or mass lesion of the small or large bowel is appreciated. Major vessels appear unremarkable.

Within the pelvis, the bladder, prostate, seminal vesicles, and rectum appear within normal limits.

No pathologic enlarged lymph nodes or free fluid are seen in the abdominopelvic cavity.

No suspected lesion is noted in the bony skeleton.

Case Discussion

Current CT findings are of right-sided, non-obstructive nephrolithiasis, which is the only abnormality and may explain the symptoms.
