Presentation

2-day history of chest pain and shortness of breath.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

AP Chest X-Ray

x-ray

Slight rotation to the left.

Cardiomediastinal silhouette is normal in size and shape.

Mediastinum is in normal position.

No acute displaced fractures.

No overt lung edema.

No focal consolidation.

No abnormal pleural lines are visualized to suggest a pneumothorax.

Costophrenic angles are relatively well defined.

No radiographic evidence of acute cardiopulmonary process.

Case Discussion

This represents a case of a normal anterior-posterior (AP) chest x-ray. A 35-year-old male with no significant medical history presented to the emergency department with chest pain and shortness of breath. A chest X-ray was ordered which showed no significant abnormalities.
