Annual check-up. Positive Mantoux skin test. History of TB vaccine.

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Lines and tubes: none.

Cardiomediastinal silhouette: vascular markings are distinct.

Lung: lungs are clear without edema, consolidations, nodules, or masses.

Pleura: costophrenic angles are sharp without pneumothorax.

Bones: bones and soft tissues are normal.

No radiographic evidence of cardiopulmonary disease.

No radiographic evidence of tuberculosis.

Case Discussion

This represents a case of a normal lateral chest radiograph—the patient in question presented for an annual check-up at his general practitioner. A Mantoux skin test was performed, which was noted to be positive. A chest x-ray was subsequently performed at the emergency department, which showed no abnormality.
