Presentation
Former premature infant who was breech presentation prior to cesarean delivery. Now with left hip click. Evaluate for developmental dysplasia of the hip.
Patient Data
The morphology of both acetabula is normal. The femoral heads are properly related to the acetabulum, without subluxation or dislocation. With stress maneuvers, no significant ligamentous laxity is demonstrated.
There is at least 50% coverage of the femoral heads and the alpha angles measure >60 degrees.
Case Discussion
This is a normal ultrasound of the hip in a patient that was at risk for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) given the history of a breech presentation.
