Case Discussion

Imaging of the scapula is similar to that of imaging of the shoulder. However, in the lateral y-scapular view, the patient's humerus should ideally be positioned away from the scapular. This can be done by positioning the hand of the affected side on the opposing shoulder. This presents the scapular without any superimposition of the humerus.
