Optic nerve sheath meningioma

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Reduced eye vision for 10 years. Proptosis for 2 years.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years old
Gender: Female
mri

Extra-axial intraconal avidly enhancing mass lesion in the retrobulbar region of left eye globe displacing the optic nerve laterally, extending from the apex of the left optic canal into the orbital cavity resulting in the severe proptosis.

It is returning iso signal intensity in T1 and T2 weighted images similar to the grey matter with homogenous contrast enhancement.

Diffusion restriction is appreciated.

Case Discussion

Extra-axial intraconal avidly enhancing mass lesion in the retrobulbar region of left eye globe displacing the optic nerve laterally. The first imaging differential is optic nerve sheath meningioma.
