Reflux of some amount of the oral contrast into the upper trachea (during swallowing).
Regarding the limited lateral view, there are no overt esophageal filling defects or strictures.
Case Discussion
A known case of medullary cancer of the thyroid status post resection and and radiotherapy (5 years ago).
Reflux of some amount of the oral contrast into the upper trachea (during swallowing) suggests extrinsic laryngeal muscle weakness or fibrosis (frequent after radiotherapy).
