Presentation
Swelling and proptosis in right eye
Patient Data
Intraorbital, predominantly extraconal lesion is seen at superior aspect of right orbit, measuring approx. 28 x 19 x 19mm (AP x TD x CC). Lesion shows multiple bloods – fluid levels with internal septations. It is displacing right globe, superior rectus muscle inferiorly and causing mild proptosis. Right superior oblique muscle is not well visualized and is likely compressed, displaced inferomedially. Mild intraconal extension of lesion is seen between
superior and medial rectus muscles with indentation of anterior intraorbital segment of right optic nerve. Lesion is just indenting medial rectus muscle medially.
Minimal possible extension of lesion is also seen along medial aspect of right orbit along lateral aspect of medial rectus muscle.
Bilateral optic nerves show normal signal intensity.
Extraocular muscles are normal on left side.
Case Discussion
Findings are suggestive of lymphangioma.
